A tool for modeling floating wind turbines<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DIEGO is innovative software. Equipped with supercomputers, it models floating wind turbines and analyzes their behavior at sea. Acronym for Integrated Dynamics of Offshore Wind Turbines and Generators, it allows the turbines, floats and anchoring lines of floating wind turbines to be conceptualized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fruit of a partnership within the Group. The creation of the tool was based on EDF Renewables' expertise in floating wind power and on the know-how of EDF R&D in 3D modeling. The tool notably benefited from the R&D test basin, located at the Chatou laboratory and reproducing extreme climatic conditions, thus making it possible to verify the simulations carried out digitally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An innovation serving floating offshore wind power<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DIEGO makes it possible to carry out realistic simulations in order to acquire better knowledge of the stability of systems, dynamic behavior in waves, and resistance in extreme conditions and over time. It is useful both upstream in the development of a project, to help with the selection of technologies, and also during the operation phase to monitor the park's environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modeler of the first Provence Grand Large pilot park<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DIEGO was notably used as part of the development of the pilot project Provence Grand Large<\/a>, the very first French floating offshore wind farm, made up of 3 wind turbines, which will be commissioned in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
