EDF Renewables announces the signing of three electricity sales contracts (Power Purchase Agreement or PPA) with Tesco, one of the country's leading mass retailers. These three contracts relate to the supply to Tesco of the production of 60 MW of future renewable capacity from seventeen rooftop photovoltaic installations in England and two onshore wind farms in Scotland. These new solar and wind projects are part of the EDF Group's CAP 2030 strategy, which aims to double, between 2015 and 2030, its renewable capacities worldwide to bring them to 50 GW net.<\/p>\n

A 20-year PPA signed for 5 MW of rooftop solar projects in England.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With expertise in France, China and the United States in the field of rooftop solar energy for its customers in the tertiary and industrial sector, EDF Renewables is now developing this activity in the United Kingdom. The company will install 15,000 photovoltaic modules on the roofs of seventeen Tesco stores across England1, for a total installed capacity of. 5 MWp. Construction work has already started and all the stores concerned must be equipped by the end of 2020.<\/p>\n

Two 15-year PPAs covering 54 MW of wind energy projects in Scotland<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the implementation of these PPAs, EDF Renewables plans:
\n\u2013 The construction of the Burnfoot East wind farm. Made up of three wind turbines, the project with 10.8 MW of installed capacity is an extension of the Burnfoot wind farm, with a capacity of 42 MW and located in the Clackmannanshire region in the heart of Scotland. Construction of the extension is expected to be completed in mid-2020;
\n\u2013 The construction in Scotland of another onshore wind farm with an installed capacity of 43 MW, the characteristics of which will be specified later.<\/p>\n
