EDF Renewables in Greece has been awarded a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a 60 MWp solar photovoltaic project, following a mixed Renewable Energy Sources (RES) auction held by the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE).<\/p>\n

The project will bring the EDF Group one step closer to meeting its goal under the CAP 2030 strategy of doubling its worldwide renewable energy capacity to 50 GW between 2015 and 2030.<\/p>\n

The Loutsa solar project (60 MWp) will be implemented on 82 hectares in the Viotia region, close to Athens. The project due to be commissioned by 2022, will benefit from a 20-year PPA at the rate of 53\u20ac\/MWh.<\/p>\n

EDF Renewables first moved into the Greek market in 2005 and is now the 4th<\/sup> largest renewable energy player in Greece with a total gross installed capacity of about 277 MW, across 17 facilities \u2013 respectively 265 MW and 12 MWp in the wind and solar segments.<\/p>\n

The company also has an Operations and Maintenance activity in the country via EDF Renewables Services Greece, its local subsidiary, which manages 286 MW* renewable energy assets for its own account and third parties.<\/p>\n
