About the Sainte-Rose wind farm<\/strong> \u2013 When it was commissioned in 2004, the wind farm was one of the first wind farms installed in France. \nThroughout the day, visitors will discover two EDF Renewables wind and solar installations on Reunion Island during guided tours. Our experts will be on hand to explain how renewable installations work and answer questions from the public.
\nThis unique event to discover renewable technologies in the region is an opportunity to raise awareness among local populations of the challenges of the Energy Transition. This circuit will also be an opportunity to discover the complementarity of EDF Renewables' different means of production, to provide low-carbon electricity all year round.<\/p>\n
\nWith a cumulative power of nearly 17 MW, the Sainte-Rose wind farm (6.3 MW) and the Roseraye solar power plant (10.5 MWp) contribute to Reunion Island's objective of achieve energy independence by 2030.<\/p>\n
\nInnovative, the renewable energy sector is constantly evolving. This day will be an opportunity to take the example of the Sainte-Rose wind farm which is the subject of a modernization project. Today, new generation wind turbines allow EDF Renewables to propose doubling the power of the Sainte-Rose wind farm to 12 MW, while reducing the number of wind turbines from 23 to 5. This new project is conceivable thanks to technological progress made since its commissioning in 2004.<\/p>\n
