{"id":2909,"date":"2017-06-21T15:52:37","date_gmt":"2017-06-21T13:52:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.france.edf-powersolutions.com\/?p=2909\/"},"modified":"2024-01-04T17:31:49","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T16:31:49","slug":"edf-energies-nouvelles-signe-contrat-dachat-delectricite-projet-eolien-de-100-mw-aux-etats-unis","status":"publish","type":"communiques","link":"https:\/\/france.edf-powersolutions.com\/en\/communiques\/edf-energies-nouvelles-signe-contrat-dachat-delectricite-projet-eolien-de-100-mw-aux-etats-unis\/","title":{"rendered":"EDF Energies Nouvelles signs a power purchase contract for a 100 MW wind project in the United States"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"blue\">\n<div class=\"detail-res\">\n<div class=\"detail-entry\">\n<div class=\"dexc\">\n<p>EDF Energies Nouvelles has signed an electricity supply contract (PPA: Power Purchase Agreement) for the Stoneray wind project with a capacity of 100 MW, via its North American subsidiary, EDF Renewable Energy.<br \/>\nThe United States is a key market for the EDF Group, which aims to double its renewable capacities by 2030, as part of its Cap 2030 strategy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"detail-content\">\n<p>The Stoneray wind project is located in Pipestone and Murray counties, in the southwest of the state of Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>The installation will have up to 50 turbines. Its construction should begin in early 2018 and its commissioning is planned during the winter of 2018-2019.<\/p>\n<p>The wind project benefits from a long-term power supply contract with the Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA).<\/p>\n<p>The project should create more than 150 jobs on the site and ten long-term full-time jobs.<\/p>\n<p>At full capacity, the wind farm is expected to produce the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 47,000 Minnesota homes.<\/p>\n<p>A subsidiary of EDF \u00c9nergies Nouvelles in North America, EDF Renewable Energy, is one of the main players in renewable energies in the United States, Canada and Mexico with 9 gigawatts of projects under development in the fields of wind energy and mainly solar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About EDF Energies Nouvelles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EDF Energies Nouvelles is an international leader in renewable electricity with an installed capacity of more than 9 GW gross worldwide.
