This future Pirapora II power plant will have an installed capacity of 115 MWp.<br \/>\nEDF Energies Nouvelles is thus continuing its development in the renewable energy sector in Brazil. With this new project, it has a portfolio under construction of 489 MW, including 183 MW of wind and 306 MWp of solar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"detail-content\">\n<p>EDF Energies Nouvelles acquired the Pirapora II photovoltaic power plant project for 80% from Canadian Solar Inc, which remains a shareholder in the project for 20% and is responsible for manufacturing the photovoltaic panels in its local factory.<\/p>\n<p>The Pirapora II project (115 MWp) benefits from a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) and its commissioning is scheduled for the first half of 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Located in the south-eastern region of the country, the project is adjacent to Pirapora I (191 MWp), another photovoltaic plant currently under construction, also owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles in partnership with Canadian Solar Inc.<\/p>\n<p>With a total installed capacity of more than 300 MWp, the solar energy generated by these two projects will represent the annual electricity consumption of 323,000 Brazilian homes.<\/p>\n<p>Antoine Cahuzac, Executive Director of the EDF Group, in charge of Renewable Energies and Managing Director of EDF Energies Nouvelles, declared: <em>\u201cThese future establishments confirm the strong ambitions of the EDF Group in Brazil.
