EDF Renewable Energy*, the American subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, announces the commissioning of two new wind farms, Bobcat Bluff and Shiloh IV, with a capacity of 150 MW and 102.5 MW respectively. The two wind farms were commissioned at the end of December.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Located in Archer County, Texas, the Bobcat Bluff wind farm includes around a hundred turbines of 1.5 MW each, supplied by the manufacturer General Electric. EDF Renewable Energy acquired the project in March 2012 and began construction in April. EDF Trading will provide energy management services and electricity trading in the Texas market.<\/p>\n

Located in Solano County, California, the Shiloh IV wind farm includes fifty turbines supplied by the manufacturer REpower. Developed, built and owned by EDF Renewable Energy, the Shiloh IV wind farm will supply the electricity produced to the American operator Pacific Gas and Electric Company under a 25-year electricity sales contract .<\/p>\n

The combined production of the two wind farms is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 80,000 homes. The operation and maintenance of the two parks will be ensured by EDF Renewable Services*.<\/p>\n

Continuing its development in North America, the achievements of Shiloh IV and Bobcat Bluff underline the Group's dynamism in the United States. With these two parks, EDF Renewable Energy successfully commissioned four wind projects for a total of 654.3 MW in 2012.<\/p>\n
