EDF Energies Nouvelles is announcing the commissioning of the first phase of Rivi\u00e8re-du-Moulin (150 MW) wind farm by its local subsidiary EDF EN Canada.<\/p>\n
Located in Quebec, the first 150 MW tranche of the Rivi\u00e8re-du-Moulin wind farm consists of 75 Senvion turbines, each with 2 MW in unit capacity. The power generated at this wind farm is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of close to 35,000 homes.<\/p>\n
Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec Distribution will buy the electricity generated by Rivi\u00e8re-du-Moulin by under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
\nThe facility's operations and maintenance will be provided by EDF Renewable Services, the North American subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles.<\/p>\n
The second tranche (200 MW) of Rivi\u00e8re-du-Moulin project is due to be commissioned by the end of 2015, lifting the wind farm's total installed capacity up to 350 MW. Rivi\u00e8re-du-Moulin wind energy project is set to become the most powerful in Canada under a single power purchase agreement.<\/p>\n
Rivi\u00e8re-du-Moulin project is part of a gigawatt program of seven wind power installations awarded to the Group under the Hydro-Quebec Distribution calls for tenders.<\/p>\n
