By taking the shift towards self-consumption, the EDF Group is innovating to better meet these new expectations in order to allow everyone to consume better and, today, to produce their own electricity. EDF ENR, leader in distributed solar power in France and subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, is transforming its entire proposition to individuals into photovoltaic self-consumption offers through \u201cMon Soleil &amp; Moi\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"detail-content\">\n<p>The \u201cMon Soleil &amp; Moi\u201d self-consumption offer becomes EDF ENR\u2019s only residential offer. This allows the customer to consume the energy generated by their own solar panels and to have the possibility of storing part of it to consume it when they need it. The offer allows customers, thanks to a range of simple tools, to maximize their self-consumption rate; the installation is sized according to its actual needs. He can monitor his consumption in real time online, on his tablet or on his smartphone. He can thus control his energy expenditure and, if he wishes, store the surplus electricity produced by his battery. The customer then becomes an actor in his consumption and a stakeholder in a major evolution in the world of energy. This offer contributes to the development of carbon-free energies. For both business and individual customers, interest in self-consumption is growing. The continued decline in the costs of producing electricity from solar sources linked to technological progress, as well as the fluctuation of electricity prices, contribute to making the self-consumption of photovoltaic electricity an economical and environmentally friendly solution. &#039;environment.<\/p>\n<p>Energy storage and the decentralization of production methods constitute major challenges for EDF, which is making significant investments to meet the expectations of consumers and network managers. For example, EDF launched the first 100% solar microgrid project in the Mafat cirque in Reunion, promoting the energy independence of isolated villages. EDF is also working in its R&amp;D centers on new battery technologies (zinc air, lithium air, etc.). EDF Energies Nouvelles, the subsidiary of the EDF Group specializing in renewable energies, has commissioned a solar power plant with storage equipped with a control system for electrical equipment, to smooth electricity production and contribute to the stability of the Guyanese network . It has also installed an energy storage system in the United States combining batteries and computerized control software to remotely manage frequency peaks on the electricity network.
