EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of the Mont-Rothery wind farm in Quebec by EDF EN Canada, the Group's local subsidiary.
\nThe 74 MW facility is the seventh and last one of the program assigned to EDF EN Canada by Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec Distribution to supply one gigawatt of wind power.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Mont-Rothery wind farm is located in the Regional County Municipalities (RCM) of La Haute-Gasp\u00e9sie and La C\u00f4te-de-Gasp\u00e9 in the Province of Quebec. With 74 MW in installed capacity, it consists of 37 wind turbines each with a unit capacity of 2 MW.<\/p>\n

The power generated by this new facility is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 15,000 homes and is supplied by Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec Distribution under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement.<\/p>\n

The facility's operations and maintenance will be provided by EDF Renewable Services Inc. Canada, EDF Energies Nouvelles' subsidiary dedicated to this activity.<\/p>\n

Mont-Rothery is the final project in a 1 GW program of seven* wind farms developed, built and commissioned by EDF EN Canada following competitive tenders held by Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec Distribution in 2008 and 2010.<\/p>\n

With the achievement of the 1 GW program in Quebec, EDF Energies Nouvelles' local subsidiary has completed in Canada 1,374 MW in gross capacity. Its expansion continues with a 224 MW project won in 2015 under a new Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec Distribution call for tenders.<\/p>\n
