{"id":17440,"date":"2016-04-18T15:47:11","date_gmt":"2016-04-18T13:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.france.edf-powersolutions.com\/edf-energies-nouvelles-remporte-trois-contrats-de-vente-delectricite-renouvelable-canada\/"},"modified":"2024-01-04T17:32:45","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T16:32:45","slug":"edf-energies-nouvelles-remporte-trois-contrats-de-vente-delectricite-renouvelable-canada-2","status":"publish","type":"communiques","link":"https:\/\/france.edf-powersolutions.com\/en\/communiques\/edf-energies-nouvelles-remporte-trois-contrats-de-vente-delectricite-renouvelable-canada-2\/","title":{"rendered":"EDF Energies Nouvelles wins three renewable Power Purchase Agreements in Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"blue\">\n<div class=\"detail-res\">\n<div class=\"detail-entry\">\n<div class=\"dexc\">\n<p>EDF Energies Nouvelles has entered into three long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), covering 82 MW in combined capacity.<br \/>\nPower will be generated by two solar projects and a wind project located in the province of Ontario, Canada.<br \/>\nThese agreements cover the purchase of electricity by the IESO, Ontario&#039;s Independent Electricity System Operator.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"detail-content\">\n<p>Under its Large Renewable Procurement (LRP) program, the IESO has awarded three 20-year PPAs to EDF EN Canada, EDF Energies Nouvelles&#039; local subsidiary.<br \/>\nInitiated by the Government of Ontario in 2013, the LRP process is committed to developing renewable energy in Ontario and to striking a balance between early community engagement and achieving value for ratepayers.<\/p>\n<p>The three future renewable facilities are set to be built by EDF EN Canada in Ontario which leads the way in terms of renewable energy in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022The Pendleton (12 MW*) and Barlow (10 MW*) solar projects occupy up to 56 and 40 hectares respectively, in eastern Ontario.<br \/>\nEDF Energies Nouvelles&#039; local subsidiary has partnered with the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation on development of these two projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022The Romney wind project (60 MW) is located in southwestern Ontario. EDF EN Canada has partnered with the Aamjiwnaang First Nation community in the development of this project.<\/p>\n<p>With a combined installed capacity of 82 MW, these three facilities will supply power equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 30,000 Ontario homes.<\/p>\n<p>*The installed capacity of the Pendleton and Barlow solar projects is stated in MW, a unit of measurement for alternating current.<br \/>\n22 MW is equivalent to around 28 MWp (direct current).<\/p>\n<div class=\"d-about\"><strong>About EDF Energies Nouvelles<\/strong>EDF Energies Nouvelles is a market leader in renewable energy electricity, with a portfolio of more than 9 GW gross installed capacity focused for the most part on wind (onshore and offshore) and solar photovoltaic energy.
