Continuing to develop their activities in India, EREN Renewable Energy and EDF Energies Nouvelles announce the commissioning of solar power plants in NSM and Odisha, which total 150 MWp of installed capacity in the Indian states of Rajasthan and Odisha. Won following calls for tenders launched by the Indian government for NSM and by the State of Odisha for the project of the same name, these projects were developed by ACME Solar. EREN Renewable Energy and EDF Energies Nouvelles are each shareholders of ACME Solar for 25%.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Located in the state of Rajasthan, in the Thar Desert, the NSM (Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission) solar installation with 120 MWp of installed capacity is spread over five sites equipped with a total of 612,000 photovoltaic panels. The commissioning of NSM constitutes a major milestone for ACME Solar in a country whose objective is to install 100 GW of photovoltaics by 2019.<\/p>\n

Funded by local and international financial institutions, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), this project contributes significantly to the local economy and employment. Indeed, the construction, operation and maintenance as well as the supply of 20% photovoltaic modules are carried out by Indian companies, which promotes the creation of a sustainable local industrial sector.<\/p>\n

Located near the town of Sikuan, the Odisha solar power plant, with a capacity of 30 MWp, is made up of 117,000 photovoltaic panels. With a cumulative capacity of 150 MWp, the total energy production of NSM and Odisha will meet the annual energy needs of more than 90,000 Indian households.<\/p>\n
