Paris, June 23, 2015 \u2013 EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the acquisition of the Salt Fork wind farm project in Texas via its North American subsidiary EDF Renewable Energy. With a maximum capacity of 200 MW, the wind farm holds a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Garland Power & Light.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Salt Fork wind farm project, which has scope for up to 200 MW in capacity, is located in Donley and Gray counties in northern Texas.
\nOriginally developed by Cielo Wind Power, the Salt Fork project is due to be commissioned in late 2016.<\/p>\n

The wind farm will be tied into the Electric Reliability Council of Texas' (ERCOT) Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ) transmission line connecting the wind energy of northern Texas, a very windy area, to high-consumption regions of the state.<\/p>\n

The electricity generated by the first 150 MW of Salt Fork will be sold to Garland Power & Light under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement.<\/p>\n

Since it first established a presence in Texas in 2011, EDF Energies Nouvelles has commissioned 872 MW of wind energy capacity. The Salt Fork acquisition has lifted the size of the Group's portfolio in the US state above the one gigawatt mark in terms of wind farms completed, under construction or under development.<\/p>\n
