A crowdfunding campaign for the construction of Normandy's first offshore wind farm off the coast of F\u00e9camp opens today to Norman individuals wishing to invest in a local project. The Norman Kiwa\u00ef platform, dedicated to the ecological transition, is offering savers, from January 18, the opportunity to invest in this renewable installation. The call for funds for this crowdfunding loan amounts to 750,000 euros in total.<\/strong><\/p>\n

F\u00e9camp offshore wind farm: a future project for the region<\/strong><\/p>\n

Supported by EDF Renewables, EIH Sarl (a subsidiary of the Enbridge group) and wpd Offshore, the F\u00e9camp offshore wind farm, with a capacity of nearly 500 MW, will be made up of 71 wind turbines located more than 13 km from the coast. As soon as it comes into service at the end of 2023, it will produce the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 770,000 people, or 60% of the inhabitants of Seine-Maritime. The F\u00e9camp park is participating in the creation of the French industrial sector of renewable marine energies. All the projects for the construction of the park will mobilize more than 1,400 jobs in the region, between 2020 and 2023. The park will allow the creation of around a hundred local jobs during the operation of the park. A new profession in Normandy will emerge, that of offshore wind maintenance technician.<\/p>\n

\u201c The realization of the F\u00e9camp offshore wind farm is the result of a long-standing close collaboration between local stakeholders and the EDF Renewables-EIH-wpd Offshore consortium. Its construction began in spring 2020, the very day after the first deconfinement. It demonstrates a strong commitment from local authorities to the energy transition. We are happy today to allow local residents and residents of the Region to participate in the creation of this park through crowdfunding. The Norman Kiwa\u00ef platform, dedicated to the ecological transition<\/strong><\/p>\n

Created at the end of 2019 by the Region and the Caisse d'Epargne Normandie, Kiwa\u00ef has just reached a milestone by opening crowdfunding for the F\u00e9camp offshore wind farm to the tune of 750,000 euros.<\/p>\n

The amount invested can range from \u20ac20 to a maximum of \u20ac2,000 per capable adult individual. This loan is guaranteed by Caisse d'Epargne Normandie and supported by the Normandy Region: the investment is therefore secure because the capital and accrued interest are guaranteed. In return, the lender will receive interest of 3% gross over 5 years (adjusted for the 30% tax deducted at source).<\/p>\n

After already 8 projects financed, the crowdfunding platform is taking on a new dimension. Kiwa\u00ef will indeed allow a greater number of people to invest in a project emblematic of Normandy's energy transition, and this in a secure manner, with the Caisse d'Epargne Normandie guaranteeing the capital and accrued interest.<\/p>\n
