{"id":10237,"date":"2020-11-13T09:56:18","date_gmt":"2020-11-13T08:56:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.france.edf-powersolutions.com\/?p=10237"},"modified":"2024-01-04T17:28:09","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T16:28:09","slug":"edf-renouvelables-remporte-deux-projets-solaires-au-sol-en-pays-de-la-loire-lors-du-dernier-appel-doffres-solaire-de-la-commission-de-regulation-de-lenergie-cre","status":"publish","type":"communiques","link":"https:\/\/france.edf-powersolutions.com\/en\/communiques\/edf-renouvelables-remporte-deux-projets-solaires-au-sol-en-pays-de-la-loire-lors-du-dernier-appel-doffres-solaire-de-la-commission-de-regulation-de-lenergie-cre\/","title":{"rendered":"EDF Renewables wins two ground-mounted solar projects in Pays de la Loire during the latest solar call for tenders from the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em><strong>Paris, November 13, 2020 \u2013 EDF Renewables has won 2 new construction projects <\/strong><\/em><em><strong>ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants, in the departments of Vend\u00e9e and Maine-et-Loire in Pays de la Loire, with a total capacity of more than 23 MW at the last call <\/strong><\/em><em><strong>solar tenders (known as \u201cCRE 4.8 call for tenders\u201d).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<strong>In the region, EDF Renewables also operates 2 wind farms in Vend\u00e9e <\/strong><strong>with a power of 20 MW.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>2 solar projects to be built and operated in the Pays de la Loire region:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>\u2013 Beaurepaire (Vend\u00e9e)<\/strong><br \/>\nLocated on a former uranium mine in the town of Beaurepaire, this photovoltaic plant, with a power of 12.8 MW, is made up of around 29,000 panels and will produce 14.4 GWh locally per year. It will power the equivalent of the electricity consumption of 6,000 people (heating included), or 20% of the population of the Community of Communes of Pays des Herbiers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>\u2013 Saumur (Maine-et-Loire):<\/strong><br \/>\nLocated on the former household waste dump in the town of Saumur, this photovoltaic plant with a power of 10.3 MW is made up of approximately 25,338 panels and will produce 11.3 GWh per year locally. It will thus cover the equivalent of the electricity consumption of 4,700 people (heating included), or 18 % of the population of the commune of Saumur.<\/p>\n<p>Developed in close consultation with local elected officials, landowners and local stakeholders, their construction will begin in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Bringing new economic benefits for communities, these two future solar power plants will each be the subject of a participatory investment campaign. These photovoltaic projects will be the first solar parks built by EDF Renewables in the region.<\/p>\n<p>For Thibault Veyssi\u00e8re, Western Regional Manager for EDF Renewables: <em>&quot; We <\/em><em>are very happy to have won these two ground-mounted solar projects in Beaurepaire and <\/em><em>Saumur and thus see several years of development come to fruition through their implementation <\/em><em>upcoming construction. Already present in Pays de la Loire with two wind farms and <\/em><em>many other renewable energy projects in development, EDF Renewables <\/em><em>strengthens its regional presence and contributes to the region\u2019s energy transition.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>In France, there are a total of 12 ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant projects <\/strong><strong>won by EDF Renewables for a total capacity of 105 MW<\/strong> and located in Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comt\u00e9, Centre-Val de Loire, Grand Est, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire. EDF ENR, the group&#039;s subsidiary dedicated to rooftop solar projects, also won 3.7 MW in Pays de la Loire. These successes thus reinforce the significant progress of the EDF Group&#039;s Solar Plan. Since its launch at the end of 2017, EDF has multiplied by 6 the number of solar projects winning calls for tender.
