EDF power solutions met en service deux centrales solaires en Moselle

EDF power solutions annonce la mise en service des centrales photovoltaïques d’Illange-Bertrange et de Farébersviller pour des capacités installées de 60 MWc et 12 MWc. Ces deux centrales solaires, situées sur des Zones d’Aménagements Concertées, contribuent à accompagner la Région Grand Est dans sa transition énergétique. La centrale d’Illange-Bertrange est la plus importante installation solaire exploitée par EDF power solutions en Moselle.

Implantées sur les communes d’Illange-Bertrange et de Farébersviller, ces centrales, d’une superficie respective de 40 et 10 hectares, sont composées d’environ 90 000 et 18 000 panneaux photovoltaïques. Elles permettront de produire l’équivalent de la consommation électrique annuelle d’environ 36 000 personnes, soit 30% de la population de la ville de Metz.


Dès 2018, le dialogue de confiance instauré entre le Conseil Départemental de la Moselle, propriétaire des terrains d’implantation, et les communes des projets permettent de déposer les permis de construire en 2019 puis de les obtenir en 2021 et 2022. Durant la construction, 200 personnes ont été mobilisées et des entreprises locales ont été sollicitées. Le calendrier des chantiers a été adapté afin d’éviter les périodes présentant des enjeux écologiques importants. Les centrales photovoltaïques de Farébersviller et d’Illange-Bertrange ont commencé à injecter de l’électricité bas carbone sur le réseau à la fin de l’année 2024 et début 2025.


Elaborées en concertation étroite avec des bureaux d’étude indépendants, les deux centrales prennent en compte dès leur conception la protection de la biodiversité :

  • Sur la centrale solaire de Farébersviller, une zone de 4 hectares a été identifiée et évitée pour favoriser le développement de trois espèces protégées : le Cuivré des marais (papillon), le Vanneau huppé (oiseau) et la Phalène zonée (papillon de nuit).
  • Sur la centrale solaire d’Illange-Bertrange, 1 hectare a été évité pour favoriser le développement du Cuivré des marais.

Dans la Région Grand Est, EDF power solutions exploite 7 centrales solaires pour une puissance cumulée d’environ 240 MWc ainsi que 27 parcs éoliens terrestres pour 453 MW. Ils sont opérés depuis nos 4 centres de maintenance éolien et solaire de la région.

EDF power solutions inaugure la plus grande centrale solaire du Territoire de Belfort

EDF power solutions annonce la mise en service de la centrale photovoltaïque de l’Aéroparc d’une capacité installée de 42,2 MWc. Située sur une ancienne base de l’OTAN, cette installation permet de valoriser un terrain dans une démarche d’accompagnement du territoire dans sa transition énergétique.

Implantée sur les communes de Reppe et de Fontaine, la centrale photovoltaïque d’une capacité installée de 42,2 MWc est composée d’environ 73 000 panneaux photovoltaïques. Elle produira l’équivalent de la consommation électrique annuelle d’environ 40% de la communauté d’agglomération du Grand Belfort.

Après avoir débuté les études environnementales en 2020, la centrale solaire a obtenu son permis de construire en décembre 2021. Lauréate de l’appel d’offres de la Commission de Régulation de l’Energie (CRE) en mars 2022, les travaux ont pu démarrer en février 2023 et se sont terminés en octobre 2024.

Dès sa conception, la centrale a pris en compte les enjeux de biodiversité grâce aux études réalisées sur le site. Elle évite ainsi les zones de boisements, les mares et leurs abords favorables aux oiseaux et amphibiens. Un balisage complet pendant la phase de chantier a été réalisé autour de ces zones pour les contourner et les préserver. Les pistes de l’ancien aérodrome ont été réutilisées et les joints amiantés de la piste ont été retirés et envoyés vers un centre de traitement spécialisé. Au total sur une superficie de 33 hectares, 6 hectares ont été évités pour préserver la biodiversité.

Un élevage ovin déjà en place sur le site a pu être maintenu pour entretenir le couvert végétal de la centrale solaire. Ce pâturage est adapté aux enjeux de biodiversité et aucun produit phytosanitaire ne sera utilisé sur la centrale pour l’entretien de la végétation.

Grâce à l’installation de cette centrale solaire, le territoire percevra des retombées économiques à hauteur de 260 000 euros par an pendant toute sa durée d’exploitation (30 ans).

Au total, EDF power solutions exploite en Région Bourgogne-Franche-Comté 18 centrales solaires pour une puissance cumulée de 243 MWc ainsi que 3 parcs éoliens pour 57 MW.

EDF power solutions acquires Gate Burton DCO solar and storage project in Linconlshire

EDF power solutions UK, previously EDF Renewables, has acquired the Gate Burton Energy Park project in Lincolnshire from Low Carbon.

Gate Burton is a consented 500MW project, having received approval from the Secretary of State, Ed Miliband, on 12th July 2024. Once operational, the project will be capable of delivering enough solar capacity to power approximately 160,000 homes while also providing critical flexibility to the grid through integrated battery storage.

Gate Burton will join EDF power solutions UK’s growing portfolio of nationally significant solar and storage projects, including Longfield in Essex — which received consent in June 2023 — as well as two other large-scale projects currently progressing through the planning process:  Springwell Solar Farm in Lincolnshire and Rosefield Solar Farm in Buckinghamshire.

EDF power solutions will be working through the details of the consent order and the programme for delivery of the project, before engaging with stakeholders and the community on the plans to bring Gate Burton into construction.

EDF power solutions wins its first battery project in Japan

In the frame of its second LTDA (Long Term Decarbonation Auction), the Japanese government awarded EDF power solutions with a 110MW battery project.

With a storage duration of 3 hours, this lithium-ion battery project is the first for EDF power solutions in Japan. The battery will be located near the city of Okayama in the southern part of the main island, and its commissioning is scheduled for 2029.

According to the terms of the tender, EDF power solutions commits to completing a full discharge and recharge cycle of the battery every day, thereby injecting 110 MW into the grid for three hours. This installation will provide flexibility to the Japanese power grid.

Japan is developing new storage capacities to support the rapid growth of renewable energies in its energy mix, while the country still depends on fossil fuels and aims at reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.

With over 15 years of experience in battery projects, EDF power solutions operates more than 600 MW of battery and builds 1 GW worldwide. Highly involved in the US and South Africa markets, EDF power solutions develops grid-connected batteries or hybrid solutions combining solar or wind farms with batteries. EDF power solutions remporte son premier projet de batterie au Japon

Au terme de sa deuxième enchère LTDA (Long Term Decarbonation Auction), le gouvernement japonais a choisi EDF power solutions pour un projet de batterie de 110 MW.

Avec une durée de stockage de 3 heures, ce projet de batteries reposant sur la technologie lithium-ion est le premier pour EDF power solutions au Japon. Il sera situé à proximité de la ville d’Okayama dans la partie sud de l’île principale et sa mise en service est prévue en 2029.

Selon les termes de l’appel d’offres, EDF power solutions s’engage à réaliser chaque jour un cycle complet de décharge et recharge de la batterie et donc d’injecter quotidiennement sur le réseau 110 MW pendant une durée de trois heures. Cette installation apportera de la flexibilité au réseau électrique japonais.

Le Japon développe de nouvelles capacités de stockage pour accompagner la croissance rapide des énergies renouvelables dans le mix énergétique alors que le pays est encore dépendant des énergies fossiles et qu’il vise la neutralité carbone d’ici à 2050.

EDF Renewables launches construction of Poland’s first large-capacity battery

EDF Renewables has officially launched the construction of the first high-capacity battery
energy storage system (BESS) in Poland. With a capacity of 50 MW, this facility will be in the
southwest of the country in the Opole region. Its commissioning is scheduled for the fourth
quarter of 2025.

This battery, directly connected to the power grid, will allow for the storage and release of electricity
based on the needs of the grid. Therefore, this facility serves as a flexibility tool and ensures the
performance of the electrical system.

As the first energy storage project of this scale in Poland, it paves the way for the development of such
projects in the region. Batteries will become a pillar of the country’s energy security and transition by
addressing the need to build a flexible, reliable, and sustainable electrical system in the context of
diversifying electricity production sites.

This first storage project by EDF Renewables Poland will be followed by two others currently in
development:

  • The first is located near the town of Kobiernice, with a capacity of 120 MW
  • The second is located near the city of Turzyn, with a capacity of 200 MW

Their commissioning is expected in mid-2027 and late 2028, respectively.

With a portfolio of production and storage projects totaling 1 GW and having been present in Poland
for 14 years, EDF Renewables develops renewable energy sources, including onshore wind, solar,
battery storage, and is positioning itself for future offshore wind projects.

Alicja Chilińska-Zawadzka, director of EDF Renewables Poland, stated, « This large-scale storage
project is our response to some of the most pressing challenges facing the energy transition in
Poland. »

EDF Renouvelables lance la construction de la première batterie de grande capacité de Pologne

EDF Renouvelables a officiellement lancé la construction du premier système de stockage d’énergie par batterie (BESS) de forte puissance en Pologne. Avec une capacité de 50 MW, cette installation sera située dans le sud-ouest du pays dans la région d’Opole. Sa mise en service est prévue pour le quatrième trimestre 2025.

Cette batterie, directement connectée au réseau électrique, permettra de stocker puis de libérer de l’électricité en fonction des besoins du réseau. Cette installation est donc un outil de flexibilité et permet d’assurer la performance du système électrique.

Premier projet de stockage d’énergie de cette ampleur en Pologne, il ouvre la voie au développement de ce type de projet sur ce territoire. Les batteries deviendront un pilier de la sécurité et de la transition énergétique du pays en répondant au besoin de construire un système électrique flexible, fiable et durable dans un contexte de diversification des sites de production d’électricité.

Ce premier projet de stockage d’EDF Renouvelables Pologne sera suivi par deux autres actuellement en développement :

  • Le premier situé dans la localité de Kobiernice, avec une capacité de 120 MW
  • Le deuxième situé près de la ville de Turzyn, avec une capacité de 200 MW

Leur mise en service est prévue respectivement mi 2027 et fin 2028.

Avec un portefeuille de projets de production et de stockage de 1GW et présent depuis 14 ans en Pologne, EDF Renouvelables développe des sources d’énergie renouvelable, éolien terrestre, solaire, de stockage batterie et se positionne sur les futurs projets éoliens en mer.
