EDF Renewables in China acquires a majority stake in an asset portfolio of 77 MWp of rooftop photovoltaic installations, from Asia Clean Capital (ACC), one of the main players in this segment in China for a clientele of local and multinational companies and industries.
For the past year, ACC has been a partner of EDF Renewables for the construction and operation of a joint portfolio of distributed rooftop solar energy projects, exclusively intended for businesses.
Distributed solar installation (2.45 MWp).
Commissioned between 2017 and 2018, the 17 rooftop solar installations represent a cumulative power of 77.1 MWp.
These projects, which all benefit from an electricity sales contract (PPA), have been installed as close as possible to companies and factories wishing to produce and consume their own electricity from renewable sources, including Danone, Coca- Cola, Nestlé, but also Chinese industrial groups such as Wahaha or Wuhan Iron & Steel.
This portfolio of rooftop photovoltaic installations was mainly acquired by EDF Renewables through a joint company with the ACC Group, which developed and built the projects and which retains a minority stake.
With this acquisition, EDF Renewables now has more than 413 gross MWp of clean energy (wind and solar) under construction or operation in China, including nearly 100 gross MWp of rooftop solar capacity operated in partnership with ACC.
This operation is part of the EDF Group's Cap 2030 strategy, which aims to double its renewable capacities between 2015 and 2030, in France and internationally, to bring them to 50 GW net.
The EDF Group has been working in China for more than 30 years in several segments of the energy market including renewable energies, nuclear energy and energy services.
