EDF Renewables in North America today announced the commissioning of the Copenhagen wind project with 80 MW of installed capacity. The new wind project contributes to EDF's CAP 2030 strategy which aims to double its renewable capacities worldwide beyond 50 GW, between 2015 and 2030.

The wind farm of 40 wind turbines manufactured by Vestas Wind Systems A/S benefits from a fifteen-year power sales contract (PPA) concluded with Narragansett Electric Company, a subsidiary of National Grid.
Located in Lewis and Jefferson counties in upstate New York, Copenhagen Park generated approximately 200 jobs during the construction phase.
In order to optimize the operational performance of this park, EDF Renewables will provide asset management services and the rest of the infrastructure. 24/7 remote monitoring and diagnostic services, operated by the local subsidiary of EDF Renewables from its San Diego Operations Control Center, will increase equipment availability and reduce downtime.
At full power, the electricity generated by the park will be able to supply the equivalent on average of the annual consumption of nearly 35,000 homes. The release of more than 177,000 metric tons of CO₂ per year1 will thus be avoided, namely the greenhouse gas emissions produced by 37,500 passenger vehicles over a period of one year.
EDF Renewables is among the leading producers of renewable energy in North America with 15 GW of wind, solar and electricity storage projects developed across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
