Continuing its wind power development in Europe, EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning, in Italy, of the Vallata wind farms, with an installed capacity of 48 MW, and Bonorva, with an installed capacity of 74 MW. These two wind farms were commissioned at the end of December 2011.
The Vallata wind farm is located in Campania, in the province of Avellino. It is made up of twenty Vestas wind turbines and four REPower wind turbines, with a unit power of 2 MW each.
Located in Sardinia, in the province of Sassari, the Bonorva wind farm includes thirty-seven Vestas wind turbines, with a unit power of 2 MW.
These two projects were carried out by EDF EN Italia, the Italian subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, which owns them at 100%.
Respectively the Group's seventh and eighth Italian projects, the Vallata and Bonorva wind farms reinforce the position of EDF Energies Nouvelles, a major player in wind power in Italy. The Group's wind capacity in the country now stands at 487 MW gross.
