enXco, the American subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, announces the signing of an electricity sales contract with the American company San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) relating to the construction of a 130 MWp photovoltaic solar power plant(1 ) in California.
Located in Kern County, California, the future Catalina solar power plant will be developed, built and owned by enXco. The electricity produced will be purchased by SDG&E under a 25-year electricity sales contract.
This power plant will be built in two successive phases. The first 60 MWp should be connected at the end of 2012 and the remaining 70 MWp put into service in mid-2013.
This project is subject to approval by the California Public Utilities Commission.
