EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the signing of a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) between its American subsidiary EDF Renewable Energy and Kansas City Power & Light (KCP & L).
This contract concerns electricity produced by the future Slate Creek wind farm (150 MW) in the state of Kansas.
The Slate Creek wind farm project located south of Wichita, Kansas, will consist of 75 Vestas wind turbines. Its construction will begin at the end of 2014 and its commissioning is planned for the end of 2015.
The EDF Energies Nouvelles group demonstrates through this agreement its ability to continue its development in the United States and continues its relationship with KCP & L with whom EDF Energies Nouvelles has already carried out three projects in Kansas (Spearville 1, 2 and 3).
