EDF Energies Nouvelles commissions the Zmorot solar power plant (50 MWp) in Israel

EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of the Zmorot photovoltaic solar power plant with 50 MWp installed capacity, by its local subsidiary EDF EN Israel.
The Prime Minister of the French Republic, as part of his trip to Israel, accompanied by the Israeli Minister of the Environment and that of Infrastructure, Energy and Water, inaugurated with Antoine Cahuzac, Director General of EDF Energies Nouvelles, this power plant which is among the most powerful in the country.

Located in the Negev desert, the Zmorot photovoltaic power plant benefits from optimal sunshine for the production of solar energy.
The Zmorot installation covers more than 60 hectares and consists of 200,000 Photowatt photovoltaic panels.
With an installed capacity of 50 MWp, Zmorot produces electricity to meet the annual needs of around 30,000 people for 20 years.

This solar power plant is part of the Israeli state's objectives to increase the share of renewable energies in its energy mix to 17% by 2030.

With the commissioning of this new photovoltaic solar installation, EDF EN Israel now operates 11 solar power plants*. Leader in renewable energies in Israel, the EDF Energies Nouvelles group currently has 160 MWp of installed solar capacity there.
