EDF Energies Nouvelles acquires a wind project with a potential of 200 MW in Texas associated with an electricity sales contract

Paris, June 23, 2015 – EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the acquisition of the Salt Fork wind farm project in Texas, via its North American subsidiary EDF Renewable Energy. With a maximum capacity of 200 MW, the wind project benefits from a long-term electricity sales contract signed with Garland Power & Light.

The Salt Fork Wind Project, with a potential of 200 MW, is located in North Texas, in Donley and Gray counties.
Commissioning of the Salt Fork wind project, initially developed by Cielo Wind Power, is scheduled for late 2016.

The wind farm will be connected to the CREZ (“Competitive Renewable Energy Zones”), the North Texas connection line of the local electricity operator ERCOT (“Electric Reliability Council of Texas”), which allows the transmission of production wind turbine from these very windy areas towards the high consumption areas of the State.

Power generated by the first 150 megawatts of Salt Fork will be sold to Garland Power & Light under a long-term power supply contract.

Since its entry into Texas in 2011, EDF Energies Nouvelles has commissioned 872 MW of wind power. Thanks to the acquisition of Salt Fork, the group now has a portfolio of more than one gigawatt of wind projects completed, under construction or in development in this state of the United States.
