enXco, American subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, announces the conclusion of an agreement with Element Power, developer and operator of renewable energy projects, relating to the acquisition of the Bobcat Bluff wind project, with a capacity of 150 MW , in development in the state of Texas in the United States.
Construction of the Bobcat Bluff wind project, located in Archer County, Texas, south of Wichita Falls, is expected to begin in the spring. With a maximum power of 150 MW, it will be equipped with General Electric turbines with a unit capacity of 1.5 MW. The commissioning of the park should take place in December 2012.
The uncertainty over the renewal of the tax credit granted to wind projects (Production Tax Credit) after 2012 creates opportunities for the EDF Energies Nouvelles group to take a position in regions where it was not yet present. This agreement follows the recent acquisitions of the Spinning Spur projects (Texas, 161 MW), in January 2012, and that of Chestnut Flats (Pennsylvania, 38 MW) in December 2011 and allows the Group to strengthen its production capacities in the United States. -United.
With the Shiloh IV, Pacific Wind, and Spearville 3 projects, enXco will build and commission more than 650 MW of wind power in the United States in 2012.
