EDF Energies Nouvelles announces an agreement between its American subsidiary, EDF Renewable Energy and Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc., a renewable energy operator in North America, to acquire the Longhorn wind project at the end of its development, with an installed capacity of 200MW. Construction of this park in Texas will be launched by the end of the year in order to obtain a tax credit provided for installations of this type (Production Tax Credit).
Established in the north of the state of Texas, the Longhorn wind farm project will benefit from connection lines planned to connect wind energy production from “competitive renewable energy production zones” to areas with high electricity consumption. state electricity.
EDF Energies Renouvelables has obtained a long-term fixed price hedging agreement for the expected energy production of the project. Construction of the project will be carried out by RES Americas on behalf of EDF Renewable Energy.
Longhorn thus represents EDF EN's fifth wind project in Texas, after the commissioning of Bobcat Bluff (150 MW) and Spinning Spur (161 MW) in December 2012, then the acquisitions of the Spinning Spur II projects in development ( 161 MW), currently under construction, and Hereford (200 MW), construction of which will be launched before the end of the year.
