EDF Energies Nouvelles is expanding in India

Expanding its field of activities in a new country with high potential, EDF Energies Nouvelles is joining forces with the Indian company ACME Cleantech Solutions Limited to create a joint company based in India. EDF Energies Nouvelles takes a 25% stake in this company, ACME Solar Energy Private Limited, dedicated to the development, construction and operation of solar projects in India.

Based in New Delhi, ACME Solar Energy Private Limited is owned by three complementary partners:

. ACME Cleantech Solutions Limited, an international Indian company specializing in new energies, telecommunications and the environment, holds a stake of 50 %;
. EDF Energies Nouvelles, a major international player in renewable energies and photovoltaic solar, is a shareholder with 25%;
. EREN, the first group dedicated to natural resource economies, also owns 25% of the company.

Positioned mainly in the photovoltaic market, ACME Solar Energy Private Limited has already launched the construction of a 30 MWp solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh in central India and has a portfolio of 200 MWp of projects at different stages of progress.

For EDF Energies Nouvelles, India presents great potential for developing solar activity. The country has a high capacity for sunshine and a recurring deficit in electricity production. With to date an installed capacity of 2 GW[1], the country's ambitions are to reach a capacity of around 22 GW by 2022.

This promising new partnership represents a fantastic opportunity for EDF Energies Nouvelles. It will allow us to take a position on the solar energy market in a country with high demand for renewable energies and high resource potential with the fundamental support of a local company. » declared Antoine Cahuzac, Managing Director of EDF Energies Nouvelles.

India represents the 18th country in which EDF Energies Nouvelles is developing, and its first establishment in South Asia.
