EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of two new wind farms by its British subsidiary, EDF Energy Renewables, and thus consolidates its positions in the United Kingdom.
Located near Northampton in England, the new M1 park has 7.2 MW of installed capacity. This new installation is made up of nine Enercon wind turbines.
Located in central Scotland, the Burnfoot North wind farm (4.1 MW) equipped with two Senvion wind turbines, is an extension of the Burnfoot Hill wind farm (26.7 MW) built and operated since 2010 by EDF Energy Renewables.
With a combined power of 11.3 MW, these two wind farms will generate the equivalent of the electricity consumption of around 7,000 Anglo-Saxon homes.
As of June 30, 2014, EDF Energies Nouvelles has an installed capacity of 527 MW of wind energy in the United Kingdom, including 62 MW of offshore wind power and is continuing to develop a portfolio of more than one gigawatt of projects.
