As part of its continuing expansion in the United Kingdom market, EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of the Barmoor wind farm (12 MW) by its local subsidiary EDF Energy Renewables.
To date, the group has completed projects totalling 551 MW in gross capacity in the country.
Located in the county of Northumberland, in North East England, the Barmoor wind farm consists of six Vestas turbines, each with a capacity of 2 MW. The new 12 MW site will generate enough electricity to supply approximately 6,500 British homes.
As of today, EDF Energies Nouvelles has 551 MW in wind energy installed capacity in the United Kingdom, 62 MW of which in the offshore segment.
